How can I make sure that nobody but Sunbeam made Mixmaster mixers?
There is a guy trying to tell me that his Dormeyer stand mixer is a Mixmaster.
If Sunbeam owns the Mixmaster name nobody else can sell a machine by that name. This doesn’t mean that someone else can’t get a license to make a machine that is identical to the Mixmaster and sell it under another name. You see this all the time. Look at the cars on the road. It’s a little different today but you used to see a GMC cars sold under both GMC and Chevrolet brands. The had different model names but the were the same vehicle. Many companies will happily build you a product and put your company name on it. It’s the same product but you man be able to buy one cheaper than the other. This is probably what the guy is trying to say. Under the name the machine was built from the same parts in the same factory as Mixmaster. Unless you can take this machine apart and compare it to a Mixmaster you’ll have to take his word for it but this isn’t an unusual situation.
