what do you think?
It makes me quite angry actually. As a country we are in the red by millions, the NHS can’t afford enough staff or all the equipment they need, schools are being closed and our children crammed into ever increasing classes/schools as there are not enough teachers as there wage is so low, millions of Britons are living in poverty (you are classed as in poverty when your household annual income is something like £16,000 or less) the elderly and single parents have to live on only £100 per week and yet they are permitted to spend tax payers money on furnishing there SECOND home, travel expenses and holidays.
It would take a single mother 6 weeks to save for one of there dining tables but then her and her children would not have eaten at all or paid any bills in that time! (yes I am aware that they would probably be dead by that time and yes no one would go without food just to buy a table but it was only an example)
No one is denying that MP’s shouldn’t get a wage, they do there job, however well or not is not the question. The point this list highlights is the unnecessary ‘expenses’ they can claim.
Yes I do feel they should get a high wage, they do a very difficult and demanding job, but I do not agree that ON TOP of that ridiculously high wage they are also allowed to have their homes furnished for them, their holidays paid……..
A wage should cover all these items just as it has to for the rest of us.
