Math Questions to confuse the mind.
?
These are some questions for the people that think they’re good at Math! ;] It’s quite easy, it’s just proportions and simple conversions. See what you can do, hmm? Solve them and whoever gets the most ones correct gets the best answer!
For these: Choose the most appropriate customary unit for each measurement. Explain your answer, if possible. (why you chose that customary unit…)
1. the weight of a watermelon
2. the capacity of a soup bowl
For these: Convert each measure. Make sure to use proportions. Explain them.
3. 28 pints to quarts
4. 5.4 tons to pounds
5. A sculptor has a 3 lb block of clay. He adds 24 oz of clay to the block in order to make a sculpture. What is the total weight of the clay before he beings sculpting?
And that’s it. :] Explain your work for these.
I only made 5 questions to make it easy. xD
1. This question would differ according to desired accuracy and location. In America it would be pounds with subsequent ounces. In England and the majority of the world it would be kilograms and grams.
2. This differs also with location, that aside either fluid ounces or milliliters.
3. 2 pints equal 1 quart. 28 pints = 14 quarts.
4. 1 ton = 2000 pounds. 5.4 tons = 10,800 pounds
5. There are 16 ounces in a pound. So the clay would weigh 4 pounds 8 ounces or 4.5 pounds.
