Is it okay to eat just white meat?
I’ve only eaten turkey and chicken for about a year and a half now. My friend and I were talking about our eating habits, and this came up (I used to be a vegetarian so she was wondering). She started off on a rant about how I should still eat red meat once in a while.
Me eating white meat is more than a health thing it’s become a preference. I can’t stand eating hamburgers or steak or any of that.
Is there really any reason that I should eat red meat occasionally?
You don’t need to eat red meat if you’re replacing it with other good protein sources. The best benefit of eliminating red meat is the saturated fat content which is the main contributor to heart disease. You should also add fish to your diet on occasion for the beneficial Omega 3 oils, primarily in cold water fish. Due to the temperature they have more fat as insulation and thus more fatty acids for our health!!!
